Grand Prix Legends

Grand Prix Legends simulates the 1967 F1 season. Hailed as one of the most realistic sims ever, with ground breaking graphics in 1997, it was a flop. Its an accurate sim of very hard to drive cars - so its not a learning curve, just a brick wall.

Still, to those with the time and love of the cars who had a good wheel and determination, it remains the most enthralling sim ever. The cars are light, powerful and low grip. Th racing is close, the circuits fantastic. The original Nurburgring takes many hours to learn.

Racing

I race online in a league called GBGPL. I'm placed 3rd in the 3rd division last season, so I am pretty happy about that. Always learning!

Rank

GPLRank is a set of benchmark lap times for each of the original GPL tracks. Adding up all the benchmark times gives you an over all time - and if you add up all your times, the difference between the two is your rank. A -ve rank is a good target for any player of this sim. Mine took me a month, but that was 4 hours a night. Others take 4 years - its all about improving your personal bests and is a real sense of achievement.
