Mozilla Firefox

The best browser out there, no questions asked. Mozilla's newest browser, not yet onto a full official release, is code named Firefox. This is now upto version 0.9.3, but rather than being unstable it performs excellently. There are more features planned for the final release, but it is well worth getting hold of as soon as you can.

The version 1 preview is due out in late September with the official version 1 due out soon after. Mozilla continues to gain in market share month on month as more people discover the best browser ever.

Key features:

• Secure: Firefox is not vunerable to active x controls, dailers and all the rest of the problems which come with using IE.
• Tabbed browsing: multiple tabs at the top of the page are used for each open page - avoiding the task-bar clutter you get with IE
• Pop-Up killer: Firefox has a good pop-up stopper built in. No more annoying popup ads.
• Fast: The Gecko rendering engine is the fastest out there and firefox will run on old hardware well.
• Small: The download is just 5mb, and only includes the core browser - no e-mail and other clients bundled. Choose what you want to use.
• Advanced search: Add any search you like to the search bar like Google, Ebay, DMOZ and many more.

With all these features, it's very good. But with 2 extensions added, it's the best. AdBlock is used to suppress adverts in pages, hiding them after the page has loaded, based on rules you create. For example, no banner advertising appears in my browser. The upshot is a less cluttered browsing experience without annoying flashing banners everywhere.
Allinonegestures uses the mouse to navigate through gestures. Hold the right button and move left for back, right for forward. All navigation functions can be accessed through a gesture and it speeds up the whole process of browsing. Try it and you wont be able to live without it.
